Former Liverpool ace Danny Murphy believes Fabinho is ‘done’ at the Premier League giants while Kostas Tsimikas is also ‘not good enough’ to thrive under Jurgen Klopp.
With Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk dropped to the bench following Saturday’s dismantling by Manchester City, a much-changed Liverpool side only served to highlight the lack of high-quality alternatives at Klopp’s disposal during a dour 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge in midweek.
Fabinho, a pale imitation of his once irrepressible self, barely laid a glove on Enzo Fernandez; the one-time Liverpool target controlling the game in Chelsea blue.

The seldom-seen Tsimikas, meanwhile, failed to emulate Andy Robertson’s usual influence at left-back. The Greek international was described as ‘awful’ by the Liverpool Echo following a punishing evening at Chelsea. A 4/10 match rating is certainly difficult to argue with.
And Murphy is not alone in calling for big changes at Anfield; Fabinho and Tsimikas headlining a number of underperforming players who’s time on Merseyside may be coming to an end.
Will Liverpool get rid of Fabinho this summer?
“Fabinho is done,” says Murphy, a UEFA Cup and FA Cup winner back in 2001.
“Tsimikas is not good enough. Robertson doesn’t worry me in the slightest. Even if he doesn’t play well, he is at it. He would die for you. Roberson, (I would keep) 100 per cent.”
The likes of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are almost certain to depart, while there are also debates to be had over the likes of Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip and co.
“Liverpool need to get rid of a load to free up the wages,” Murphy tells talkSPORT (5 April, 10am).
“Fabinho, Keita and ‘Ox’ have got to go. I think Matip has been brilliant but he’s not go the athleticism anymore. Get some good money for him.
“(Ibrahima) Konate is more the future with the physicality and the legs. Bring another centre-half in who has got those characteristics.”
