The Newcastle United star is a big fan of the club’s stadium.
Newcastle defender Fabian Schar spoke exclusively to the Chronicle about how he is settling into life in England, and raved about the atmosphere at St James’ Park, labelling the home fans as ‘crazy’.
The 42-capped Switzerland international joined the Magpies from Deportivo La Coruna in the summer, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £3 million, and in today’s day and age, that has to be classed as a real bargain.
Newcastle have endured a tricky start to their campaign, however, taking just one point from their opening three league games, although Schar has payed only one of those matches.
The 26-year-old spoke exclusively to the Chronicle, and raved about St James’ Park, labelling Newcastle’s home as one of the best stadiums he has ever played in:
“St James’ Park is one of the best stadiums I have played in. The fans are crazy and I love to play here. I am looking forward to the next home game. It’s cold in the North East, but I knew this so I’ve settled in well.”
Next up for Rafa Benitez’s side is a trip tot he Etihad to take on Pep Guardiola’s magnificent Manchester City side, and anything other than a heavy defeat will be a bonus for Newcastle.
