Delph wishes his old Aston Villa pal well in retirement.
Gabby Agbonlahor has formalised his retirement from football.
The former Aston Villa forward was quoted by Sky Sports stating that he is no longer looking to pursue his career.
Agbonlahor, 32, left Villa last summer after 17 years at the club.
He was immediately wished well by ex Villa teammate Fabian Delph, who left the club under a cloud in 2015.
Delph described Agbonlahor as a ‘legend’ and said it was an honour to play alongside him.
Agbonlahor made his Villa debut in 2006 after working his way through their academy.
He won three England caps and made a total of 391 appearances for Villa.
His career spiralled in the season they were relegated and he never really re-established himself as a regular.
Time is a healer, and Agbonlahor’s reputation has been restored somewhat, as a gifted player who for several seasons gave his all, before being notably affected by the teams lack of success on the pitch.
