There are similarities between the Everton target and the much-loved Liverpool man.

Even Everton fans might agree that James Milner has been a stunning addition to Liverpool’s team.
Milner is 33 and he might be in the twilight of his career but, by virtue of the fact that he helped the Reds to a sixth Champions League title last month, you could argue that he isn’t slowing down.
He is the epitome of professionalism on and off the field – and could Everton have their very own version soon?
According to The Telegraph, the Toffees are closing in on an £8 million move for Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph who, incidentally, has quite a lot in common with Milner.
Surplus to requirements at Man City? Check. Produced by Leeds’ academy? Check. Both midfielders who’ll happily play elsewhere when needed – and do a cracking job? Check.
Both are all-action, industrious players and if Delph moves to Goodison Park, he could be as loved as Milner is on the red side of the Merseyside divide.
Oh, and for £8 million, it’s a steal.
This is a player with two Premier League titles and bags of ability. He might be turning 30 this year but if he is anywhere near as influential and reliable for the Toffees as his fellow Yorkshire man at Liverpool then it’s an absolute bargain.
