Wolves are into the last eight of the FA Cup.

Wolves have reached the FA Cup quarter-finals and have dreams of winning this year’s competition.

They host Manchester United at Molineux, a side who they held to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford earlier this season.

Victory will send Wolves to the semi-finals at Wembley, and hope they can avoid the only remaining side who will hold a higher league position than them, Manchester City providing they beat Swansea.

Winning the FA Cup would be significant for Wolves.

It would further validate the rapid progress Nuno Santo’s side have made over the past two seasons.

Wolves last FA Cup success came in 1960, followed by two League Cups in 1974 and 1980.

So silverware would be momentous for Wolves, but there is more at stake.

Success would bring European qualification, entering Wolves into the Europa League.

This brings in more revenue, and increases Wolves’ status on the continent.

Entry to the Europa League would be a huge boost for Wolves in the transfer market as they look to buy players in the summer.

Wolves have already enjoyed success thanks to the contacts of their owners, attracting the likes of Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves.

Negotiating will become a lot easier this summer if Wolves hold the status of FA Cup winners and can promise Europa League football.

First up, the team must get past Manchester United.
