The Macedonian international has been linked with a move to Leeds United.
New Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen
As reported by West Yorkshire Sport, Ezgjan Alioski’s agents have spoken following links with Leeds United.
A report from Corriere dello Ticino claimed a deal was in the offing for the 25-year-old, who currently plays for Swiss side Lugano, but his agency was allegedly reluctant to fuel the claims.
“We’ve received many enquiries regarding the player and will analyse them all in due time,” an agent is quoted as telling West Yorkshire Sport.
“Due to his massive impact at Lugano last season it is understandable Alioski is a sought after player all over Europe.”
The winger-cum-striker scored 17 goals and provided 14 assists in 36 matches for the Swiss side, and his ability to play in a range of attacking positions (as well as at left-back) makes him an exciting prospect for new Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen.
Unsurprisingly, his agents were quick to suggest a number of offers were on the table, ensuring they get the possible deal for a player who looks set to move on this summer after a campaign that is difficult to ignore.
Leeds were lacking creativity and goal threat from midfield last time out and aside from Chris Wood their goal-scoring options were sparse to say the least.
Alioski could star on the wing or up front at Elland Road and, with just one year remaining on his current contract, it is unlikely to take a huge bid to seal a deal.
Only time will tell if Leeds get their man, but his agency’s reluctance to fuel the fires of speculation should not be overstated at this stage, not when they know their client is suddenly generating headlines far beyond Switzerland and his homeland.
