Ezgjan Alioski was a surprise starter for Leeds.

There are not normally too many surprises when Marcelo Bielsa names a Leeds United teamsheet.
Last night there was one, with Ezgjan Alioski name at left-back in place of Barry Douglas, who appears to be injured.
Alioski impressed at left-back last season, and his performance at home to Brentford last night was more of the same.
The maverick Macedonian managed 100 touches, the second highest of any player on the pitch.
Only teammate Kalvin Phillips managed more with 107.
In doing so Alioski created three goalscoring chances.
To put that into context, the rest of the Leeds team made five combined with no individual managing more than one.

Defensively, Alioski made three interceptions, a figure which was second highest among Leeds’ defenders, behind only to Ben White (7).
Barry Douglas impressed at the weekend in Leeds’ win over Wigan, but Alioski was certainly no downgrade.
He should have done enough to keep his place in the team after this performance.
