Scott Arfield joined the Steven Gerrard revolution this summer, and is already struck by how much he is learning under the guidance of the Liverpool legend.
Arfield, signed by Gerrard from Burnley back in May, has been with the rest of the squad in their Spanish training camp as they gear up for the 2018/19 season.
Gerrard has been putting his players through their paces – something that was depicted in a viral video recently – as he tries to mould them into genuine challengers to Celtic.

“The first week has been brilliant, so enjoyable and it’s a fresh change after moving from one club where I have been for five years to get into this,” Arfield said.
“I feel as if I have settled in well, the training has helped me and the intensity of training I think really suits my game anyway.
“I was surprised by it having been at Burnley, this training has been eye opening to me to come straight in and the boys have just taken it head on. It has been intensive and it is by far the hardest pre-season I have done, especially the first week.”
The Gers are currently 10 days deep into their training programme in Malaga, and are due to return home with a pre-season friendly match against Bury coming up on July 6.
On Gerrard’s style, an impressed Arfield added: “I can by far still learn, I have already learnt things in the eight days I have been here and not just from the manager, his staff that he’s brought in are exceptional.”
It certainly already looks as though Rangers will have a different look about them next season, with a number of news faces in the side and Gerrard seemingly hell bent on improving fitness and aggression.
