Chris Coleman raved about Ovie Ejaria’s passing ability.

Rangers have taken a gamble on Steven Gerrard and the new boss is taking a bit of a risk himself with a potential signing.
Ibrox will be a tough challenge for Ejaria, who struggled to crack the Black Cats first team, but the experience will stand him in good stead for what lies ahead at Rangers.

Gerrard knows Ejaria and that will help, but his lack of first team experience is certainly a gamble.
Comments from his loan boss Chris Coleman last season are eye opening regarding Ejaria’s passing ability, and show why Rangers are willing to bring him in.
He told The Chronicle: “He has all the tools but hasn’t had the experience, he will get it.
“Ovie, he has the capacity to turn a game with one slick pass.”

Coleman elaborated that Ejaria’s game is still flawed, but Rangers know they won’t be getting the finished product.
“He is brave and always wants the ball, he has been caught in possession now and again.”
Rangers fans will have to be patient with him, and Ejaria will need to see off competition to earn a first team spot.
If he can prove to be a match winner with the passing ability Coleman raved about, then he will quickly get supporters on side.
