Celtic have agreed to sign Ajax Cape Town defender Rivaldo Coetzee.
South African club Ajax Cape Town have taken to Twitter this evening to confirm that they have agreed a deal with Celtic for the transfer of defender Rivaldo Coetzee.
The Bhoys had already tied up deals to sign Kundai Benyu, Olivier Ntcham and Jonny Hayes, but manager Brendan Rodgers has now turned his attention to improving his defensive options.

With Jozo Simunovic injured and Erik Sviatchenko linked away, Celtic have now moved to snap up another centre back, with South African ace Rivaldo Coetzee on the verge of signing.
Speculation over the last fortnight has surrounded a move for 20-year-old Coezee, with suggestions that Rodgers wanted to land the youngster to boost his defence both now and for the future.
Now, Ajax Cape Town have taken to Twitter tonight in order to confirm that they are ‘extremely proud’ to have struck a deal with Celtic for the transfer of Coetzee, with terms agreed on the defender’s move.
Sport24 in South Africa claim that Coetzee will now be flying to Scotland imminently to complete his move, which Celtic will hope to have tied up well in advance of the transfer deadline.

With more than 100 appearances for Ajax Cape Town and 23 caps for South Africa, Coetzee has emerged as one of his country’s top young talents in recent years, having come up through the ranks with his club.
Coetzee only stands at 5ft 11in tall, which is relatively short for a centre back, but he has impressed with his pace, reading of the game and ability on the ball, which should make him a good fit for Rodgers’ style of play at Celtic.
Do you think Coetzee is a good signing for Celtic?
