West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has turned down a move to Saudi Arabia.

That is according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Italian outlet claims that a club outside of Saudi Arabia’s big four made a proposal to Michail Antonio but it was rejected by the player.

The Saudi Pro League has been a lure for some of the best footballers in the world, with Neymar recently leaving Paris Saint-Germain for Al-Hilal.

However, it does not look like Antonio is keen on moving to Saudi Arabia for the time being.

Michail Antonio could still leave West Ham this summer

While Antonio joining a club in the Saudi Pro League seems unlikely for now, there is still a possibility that he leaves the London Stadium before the transfer window closes.

Journalist Rudy Galetti recently told GiveMeSport that Wolverhampton Wanderers have considered the 33-year-old’s name.

As Gary O’Neil looks to bring in a new striker, you can see why the Wolves manager would target Antonio.

The Jamaica international has plenty of Premier League experience and is a very powerful forward.

“I’m really happy for him, because he’s a fantastic lad, a great professional and a really, really important player,” Paolo Di Canio told West Ham’s official website after Antonio broke his Premier League goalscoring record at the club.

The Hammers icon later went on to add: “You have an extraordinary, atypical physique. We always say that when a striker is built like that, he can be the team’s whole forward line.”

If Antonio does leave West Ham, David Moyes may have to bring in another striker, having let Gianluca Scamacca return to Italy after just one season in east London.

As of now, though, it looks like the former Nottingham Forest man will be staying. Saudi Arabia does not appear to appeal to him at the minute, while Wolves’ interest has not materialised into anything serious yet.
