Nicolo Zaniolo reportedly wants to join Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa are interested in signing Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray in the summer transfer window.

The Italian journalist has reported on Twitter that Villa want to sign Zaniolo on a season-long loan deal with the option to make it permanent next summer.

Turkish giants Galatasaray do not want to do such a deal for the Italy international, who was described as “extraordinary” by AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho on the club’s YouTube channel in August 2022.

Romano has added that Zaniolo himself is keen on a move to Villa.

Aston Villa need to offer better terms for Nicolo Zaniolo

In our opinion, Aston Villa are unlikely to be able to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray on a loan deal in the summer transfer window.

No way.

Why would Galatasaray agree to such a deal?

What is in it for them?

A small loan fee and getting the Italian’s wages off their books?

That is not enough.

After all, Galatasaray signed Zaniolo from AS Roma only in February 2023.

The 24-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, made two starts and eight substitute appearances in the Turkish Super Lig for Galatasaray last season.

Zaniolo scored five goals in those games.

Galatasaray clinched the 2022-23 Turkish Super Lig title.

We believe that Villa have to pay a good transfer fee and sign Zaniolo on a permanent basis.

Yes, the playmaker himself is keen on a move to Villa, but he has a contract with Galatasaray, who hold all the cards.

Villa will be aiming to challenge for the Premier League top six this season.

The Villans are going great under former Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery.
