Celtic target Shon Weissman is likely to leave Austria this summer with Wolfsberger coach Ferdinand Feldhofer admitting to Sky that he would be ‘extremely surprised’ if the Israel international stuck around for another year.
Though whether a move to Scotland is still on the cards for this prolific centre-forward remains to be seen.
The Telegraph reported earlier this month that Celtic had identified Weissman as a potential replacement for Odsonne Edouard at Parkhead.
But the newly-crowned Scottish Premiership Player of the Year does not appear to be going anywhere just yet, making it clear that he wants to stick around to make that ‘ten in a row’ dream a reality (Daily Record).
Then again, a new number nine would still be welcome at Celtic, even if Edouard stays.
Leigh Griffiths is not quite the force he once was despite some impassive displays since the turn of the year, while Vakoun Issouf Bayo has been less Henrik Larsson, more Amido Balde.
And Wolfsberger coach Feldhofer is under no illusions about what the future holds for Weissman after a run of 32 goals in 34 games.

“He still has a contract. But I don’t expect him to stay,” Feldhofer says of a striker he described as ‘extraordinary’.
“I would be extremely surprised (if he stayed). But I would be happy as a coach if he is still here.”
Celtic have certainly had a mixed record when it comes to signing strikers in recent years, with Bayo joining Balde, Teemu Pukki and Nadir Ciftci in the pantheon of Parkhead flops.
But with such a remarkable goalscoring record over in Austria, Weissman surely can’t fail in Scotland.
