Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni raved about the quality of Tottenham defender Juan Foyth, when speaking to reporters after his side’s friendly win over Mexico, and praised Mauricio Pochettino for the influence he has had on the 20-year-old game, as quoted by Football.London.

Foyth joined Spurs from Argentinian side Estudiantes in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £8 million, but he initially struggled to establish himself in north London.

The centre-back has really impressed in recent weeks and months, however, having had to fill in for Jan Vertonghen and Davinsoon Sanchez.

He still has a long way to go before he proves all of his critics wrong, but he is certainly on the right track to do just that.

Foyth’s national team manager Lionel Scaloni raved about the Tottenham ace, when speaking to reporters, and took time to praise Pochettino’s role in the youngster’s recent improvement, as quoted by Football.London:

“I think we are in front of a big centre-back, an important player for the future of the national team, and his coach [Pochettino] is helping him in an extraordinary way. We are very happy with Foyth, we are talking about a great centre-back, with a great future.”

Next up for Tottenham is a clash with Chelsea on Saturday evening, and it would be no surprise to see Foyth given another chance by Poch to prove his worth.
