Gary Lineker has shared his admiration of Newcastle United target and Leicester City playmaker James Maddison on Twitter.
The former Leicester and Tottenham Hotspur striker was impressed by the performance of Maddison against Nottingham Forest at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Monday evening.
The England international attacking midfielder scored two goals and provided an assist for the Foxes.
Brendan Rodgers’s side won the Premier League game 4-0.
The 25-year-old has scored five goals and given two assists in seven Premier League appearances for Leicester so far this season.
The Leicester no. 10 scored 12 goals and gave eight assists in 28 Premier League starts last season.
Maddison has been strongly linked with Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

The Athletic reported last month that Newcastle ‘retain an interest’ in Maddison.
The Magpies reportedly wanted to sign the England international playmaker in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle are a massive club who are on the up, and a move to St. James’ Park could be very tempting to Maddison, who would make Eddie Howe’s team more creative and potent.
However, Leicester are not going to make it easy for Newcastle to sign the Englishman, especially if results improve this month.
