Speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, Whites legend Eddie Gray has been speaking about Marcelo Bielsa and the impact he’s had at Elland Road.
Bielsa has worked wonders at Leeds since he arrived back in 2018, he’s transformed Leeds from a mid-table Championship club to a bona fide Premier League outfit.
The Argentine hasn’t only taken Leeds to new heights, he’s improved a number of the players at the club.
Indeed, the likes of Stuart Dallas, Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and Luke Ayling have been playing the best football of their careers under Bielsa, and Gray has been blown away by the impact the manager has had.

Gray had special praise for Bielsa.
“To be honest with you I think he’s done extraordinary things. I’ve got to be honest and I’m not being unfair to the players, before Marcelo came some of the players who are playing in the team at the present time never showed the qualities that they’ve shown since Marcelo has coached them. It says a lot about Marcelo and a lot about the players as well. The players respond so well to him because I think they know Marcelo has improved them so much and improved the image of the football club as well. How many people now do you hear say Leeds are their second-favourite team because they play a good brand of football and a passionate brand of football, so he’s great,” Gray said.

What a manager Marcelo Bielsa has been for Leeds.
Regadless of where the Whites sit in the Premier League right now, you’d have to be a fool to question the Argentine’s achievements to this point.
With all due respect to the Whites’ playing staff, this is a group of players who’ve been Championship-standard for the majority of their careers, but over the past 12 months, they’ve been doing the business at the very top level.
Bielsa will undoubtedly go down as an all-time great manager at Leeds.
