Pat Nevin has praised Leeds United star Rodrigo on BBC Radio 5 Live Extra while watching him in action against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at Elland Road in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The former Chelsea star was impressed by Rodrigo’s vision and creativity, although he said that it was the Spain international star who was at fault for the goal that Bukayo Saka scored late in the first half for Arsenal against Leeds.

Rodrigo, who can operate as a striker, attacking midfielder or winger, played a crossfield ball towards his own defence.

It was intercepted by Arsenal, with Martin Odegaard playing the ball to Saka, who smashed it home.

Rodrigo is a very good player whose versatility is a boon to Leeds United, who are a better team with him in it.

The Spaniard is a top-level player whose importance in the Leeds team cannot be understated.

For the West Yorkshire club to have a successful season, in our view, Rodrigo will have to be on top of his game and create chances for his teammates to finish off.
