Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be keen on Mateo Kovacic.

Tottenham Hotspur have been given extra hope in their desire to sign Mateo Kovacic.

Football London reported over the weekend Kovacic is an option for Spurs, despite his £44 million valuation by Real.

Now Spurs have a further boost, with Real Madrid lining up replacements for the Croatian.

Spanish newspaper AS report Real want to sign Colombia World Cup ace Juan Quintero if Kovacic leaves.

Another report from ESPN Mexico claims Real boss Julien Lopetegui is keen on Quintero’s Porto teammate Hector Herrera, to take Kovacic’s place.

Former Inter Milan ace Kovacic wants to play more regularly and is keen on an exit from Real.

He is currently at the World Cup with Croatia, where he has come off the bench in both their wins so far.

Last season he made only 10 La Liga starts for Real, but would not necessarily be an automatic starter at Tottenham if he signed either due to the competition for places.
