Danny Murphy has told Match of the Day 2 that he thinks that Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has got quicker this season.
Alexander-Arnold caught the eye for Liverpool yesterday, as they picked up a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.
The right-back has responded very well since being dropped from England’s squad back in March and now seems to be back at his very best.
It was Alexander-Arnold who delivered the cross in the last minute which Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson converted from.
And Murphy thinks that Alexander-Arnold now looks back to his very best, and he has even seen signs that the right-back is getting faster.
“He’s been brilliant for a while now but you looks sharper and fitter to me,” the BBC pundit said.
“He looks like he’s got that sharpness back. He always plays with great confidence going forward.
“His decision making is good and he’s defensive side was good today.

“That extra burst of pace there I’m talking about, which maybe he was lacking a little bit earlier in the season, which is understandable as he’s played non-stop for two years.
“The worrying thing for Liverpool is that he’s becoming the playmaker and the creator from a full-back position, other players need to do better.”
In truth Alexander-Arnold has been one of Liverpool’s key creators for some time, so Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to be too concerned about that development.
Instead, the Reds will surely be delighted to have their right-back showing such good form.
Liverpool’s win over West Brom has put them in a strong position to reclaim a top four spot against the odds.
Klopp’s side had looked out of contention for the Champions League at one stage, but if they now are able to win their final two games of the season – against Burnley and Crystal Palace – then Liverpool may well have elite level European football on offer again next term.
