Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Liverpool and their interest in Jude Bellingham.

Jurgen Klopp sent the rumour mill into overdrive this week as he went on the record to praise Bellingham in an interview with The Times.

Liverpool have been linked with Bellingham for ages now, but according to Romano, they actually explored this potential deal this summer, but sadly, they were told in no uncertain terms by Borussia Dortmund that the player is not for sale.

What’s been said?

Romao spoke about Liverpool’s interest in Bellingham.

“Jurgen Klopp in the last 24 hours said that he was a fantastic player and everything but he is not on the market. The reality is that Liverpool, immediately after missing out on Aurelien Tchouameni, they were exploring this discussion for Jude Bellingham, but it was not even a negotiation because he’s not on the market. No bid, no discussion, no negotiation. Bellingham will not leave next summer, but next summer I believe he will be on this podcast every episode,” Romano said.

Try again next year

Bellingham may not be attainable this summer, but this is certainly one that Liverpool should, and probably will, look at next year.

Borussia Dortmund seem to be operating on a strategy that sees them sell one star player every summer, and while it was Erling Haaland’s turn this time around, Bellingham could be the next in line to be sold by the Bundesliga outfit.

Thiago and Jordan Henderson both aren’t getting any younger, so a move for Bellingham could make the world of sense for the Reds.

Keep an eye on this one.
