A rumoured West Ham United target is happy at Swansea City, according to his brother.

The Guardian claimed earlier this week that the Swansea defender Joe Rodon is of interest to the Hammers as they seek to add to their options in central defence, but warned that he could be too expensive.

And, reacting to the news on Twitter, Sam Rodon suggested that cost is not the only thing potentially standing in West Ham’s way.

He wrote on Thursday:

Rodon, who has four caps for Wales, has two years left on his contract at Swansea.

He is one of several players in his position in whom West Ham have been linked this week, with others including Wesley Fofana, Calum Chambers and Dennis Hadzikadunic.

West Ham have yet to make any significant additions to the squad that narrowly avoided relegation last season, prompting a large number of Hammers supporters to turn on the club’s owners, David Gold and David Sullivan, and vice-chairman Karren Brady.
