Arsenal fans are concerned after Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola praised Bukayo Saka on Sunday.
Arsenal may have lost 1-0 against City at the weekend, but Saka still managed to prove his talent.
The youngster was Arsenal’s brightest player once again, and Guardiola spoke very positively about him after the game.
‘The whole team suffered when Arsenal had the ball, and moved with [Granit] Xhaka and [Mohamed] Elneny with the central defenders,’ Guardiola said to the Metro.
“And then after the counter-attack with all the players they have behind [our] midfield players, with Martin Odegaard and especially with Saka. A real tough opponent to play.
“They have incredible young, talented players, so I see a bright, bright future for Arsenal.”
To earn praise from one of the most respected managers in world football surely meant a lot to Saka.
However, Arsenal fans are worried that Manchester City could launch a bid for their prized prospect now that Guardiola is on record as an admirer of him.
Is a transfer possible?
City would arguably have the wealth to sign Saka, if they really pushed for him, but Arsenal would surely demand a huge fee for the teenager.
Saka has become a vital player for the Gunners this season, and looks set to win their Player of the Season award already.
City may also have their eyes on making signings in other positions rather than down the flanks.
Guardiola is likely to target a striker this summer and possibly a left-back, which may mean that signing Saka isn’t a priority of his right now.
