West Ham United are set to sign free agent Patrice Evra.
Patrice Evra will be excited to link up with West Ham United’s Javier Hernandez, judging by his past comments on goal.com.
Evra and Hernandez played together earlier in their careers at Manchester United, and the left-back spoke very highly of the Mexican forward.
Hernandez was only a rotational player at United, but Evra claimed that he always felt that when the Mexican was on the pitch, the Red Devils were going to score.
“Always when he comes on you feel he will score. It’s unbelievable,” Evra said.
Evra could now link up with Hernandez again at West Ham, with the 36-year-old set to join according to Sky Sports.
Evra will be in competition with Aaron Cresswell for a place at left-back in David Moyes’ team.
Hernandez, meanwhile, appears to have just broken into West Ham’s starting plans, after injuries to Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini.
Hernandez scored in West Ham’s last match against Brighton & Hove Albion, to take his tally to six for the season.
Evra could make his West Ham debut at the weekend, when Moyes’ side take on Watford.
