Speaking to CaughtOffside, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Youri Tielemans’ future as he enters the final few months of his Leicester contract.
The Belgian midfielder’s contract will expire at the end of the season, and so far, he hasn’t shown any sort of willingness to sign a new deal with the Foxes.
So, where will Tielemans end up next? Well, he’s been linked to Arsenal for a number of months at this point, but, as of yet, the Gunners haven’t made their move, despite having ample opportunity to do so.
However, according to Jacobs, the north London club haven’t ruled out the idea of signing Tielemans on a free this summer.

Arsenal still in for Tielemans
The journalist shared what he knows about the Leicester star.
“Youri Tielemans is also expected to leave Leicester this summer on a free transfer, barring a U-turn on signing a new deal. Leicester would love to keep him, but Tielemans has been clear for over a year he doesn’t want to extend,” Jacobs wrote.
“Arsenal still haven’t ruled out signing him on a free transfer. They were reluctant to pay a transfer fee over the past two windows, but now the Belgian midfielder is a bargain. Newcastle also really like Tielemans and Manchester United are one to watch as well.”
Good option
Tielemans may not be a premier midfield option like Moises Caicedo or Declan Rice heading into the summer transfer window, but he’d still be a great addition to this Arsenal team.
Let’s not forget, this is a player who has been at the heart of an FA Cup win and two Champions League pushes with Leicester. His underwhelming showings over the past 18 months are not indicative of his ability.
Tielemans can be a star under the right circumstances, and a move to Arsenal may be just what the doctor ordered.
