David Ornstein has said that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will sell Folarin Balogun in the summer transfer window.

The Athletic journalist has reported on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel that Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is “expected to be sold”.

The 21-year-old striker is on loan at Reims at the moment.

The youngster joined the French club on loan from Premier League side Arsenal in the summer of 2022.

Balogun has made 31 starts and three substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Reims this season.

The striker has scored 19 goals and given two assists in those games.

Ornstein said about Balogun: “Then there will be decisions in the striker department as well, with Folarin Balogun expected to be sold.”

Arsenal should give Folarin Balogun a chance

In our view, Arsenal should give Folarin Balogun another chance next season.

Yes, when the striker has turned out for the Arsenal first team, he has not looked particularly great and did not appear ready to lead the line.

However, the youngster is doing extremely well at Reims.

We believe that Balogun deserves another chance in the Arsenal first team given how well he has done in Ligue 1.

Now, of course, Gabriel Jesus is the number one striker at Arsenal, who have been linked with some top-quality front-men as well.

However, we think that Arenal should at least give Balogun a chance once he returns from the loan spell.

After all, in February 2023, Arsenal boss Arteta described the striker as “really ambitious, really committed and really brave” on the club’s official website, adding that the striker “is doing it’s just incredible”.
