Conor Coady has praised Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min after his performance against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

Tottenham headed to Villa Park on Sunday afternoon in a crucial game for the Champions League race.

Spurs produced a superb performance with James Maddison opening the scoring from a sensational Pape Matar Sarr cross.

Brennan Johnson made it 2-0 before John McGinn picked up a red card for a nasty foul on Destiny Udogie.

Tottenham took full advantage with Son Heung-min adding number three before substitute Timo Werner found a fourth late on.

Ange Postecoglou’s men now move two points shy of Villa in the race for the top four – and still have a game in hand on Unai Emery and co.

This was a superb team performance from Tottenham but there were some fine individual performances too – including from Son.

The South Korean really wrapped up Tottenham’s victory with a powerful finish for number three, hammering the ball beyond Emiliano Martinez.

Son also bagged two assists, setting up Johnson and Werner to score in a superb display.

That is now 14 goals and eight assists in 24 Premier League games for Son this season and he has now been praised by Conor Coady.

The Leicester City defender was on punditry duty for BBC Sport and took time to praise Son.

Coady suggested that you can’t expect anything short of excellence in front of goal from Son.

Coady added that it was a simply ‘brilliant’ goal and that Son is a ‘brilliant’ player.

“What a finish. You expect nothing else from Son,” said Coady. “A brilliant goal and a brilliant footballer,” he added.

Son cost Tottenham just £22million back in 2015 and that deal looks like an unbelievable bargain now.

Tottenham will do well to sign anybody representing that kind of value again and Son will simply go down as one of their best-ever additions.
