Tottenham could end up signing off on a number of exits – temporary and permanent – this summer, which will mean new recruits are on the horizon.

Recent transfer reports have indicated that Tottenham’s August is set to be a busy month when it comes to both outgoings, and subsequently, incomings.

Despite a slow start to the transfer window, with the North Londoners the only side yet to make a signing, three Tottenham first-teamers have been closely linked with an exit this week – with one sealing a departure on Friday.

Talented youngster Josh Onomah completed a loan move to Aston Villa, just after signing a new contract with Spurs.

Midfielder Moussa Sissoko could also be shipped out on loan to Trabzonspor according to ESPN, with the France international a huge disappointment after a big money move from Newcastle.

And defender Kevin Wimmer remains on the shortlist of Southampton, say the Mail, with the future of Virgil van Dijk still up in the air.

With Kyle Walker’s position in the squad still up for grabs, at the very least that leaves three to four positions that have to be filled by Daniel Levy before the transfer window shuts.

If Wimmer departs that will leave Spurs with only Cameron Carter-Vickers as a back up centre back if they play three in the middle of the defence. The club have been linked with plenty of defenders this summer even before the Austrian international starting inching towards an an exit, with fullback also important.

And central midfield would have just talented but prone to knocks Mousa Dembele, Victor Wanyama and the returning Harry Winks – with Eric Dier also an option there – again suggesting a midfield arrival will surely be on the cards this month.

With Erik Lamela and Heung Min Son still away from first team availability, the club will also be short in the attacking midfield/wing areas.

Ross Barkley, anyone? Links from the likes of ESPN continue to suggest that could be an option, even if a deal still looks difficult.

Otherwise, expect some left-field Levy scoops should the exit-linked trio mentioned above depart.
