The Rangers manager Steven Gerrard says Eros Grezda can leave Ibrox.

Eros Grezda had until Monday evening to secure a move from Rangers to the Qatar Stars League.

The Daily Record reported that two clubs there – Al Sadd and Al-Rayyan – were interested in signing the exiled Rangers winger, whom Steven Gerrard has instructed to leave.

But the Albania international remains at Ibrox with the Qatari deadline having since passed.

So what now? Well, according to Transfermarkt, only 15 countries across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Oceania are open for business in terms of transfers.

Of those, only Australia seems like a viable option, given the likely cost involved in taking Grezda – a £1.8 million signing little more than a year ago – from Rangers. And even that seems somewhat outlandish.

That in mind, the 24-year-old could be set for an uncomfortable few months at Rangers.
