‘Excuse me, what?’: Some West Ham fans outraged by decision involving Leeds man

West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after the BBC named Marcelo Bielsa as their Manager of the Season over David Moyes.

The Leeds tactician received 37% of the votes, whereas Moyes received 30% – Pep Guardiola finished third with 12%.

Now, you can understand why the Match of the Day viewers went with Bielsa.

The Argentine guided a group of Championship players, with the exception of a few signings, to ninth in the Premier League.

Impressively, Leeds were just three points away from a place in Europe.

However, what Moyes achieved at West Ham is far more commendable, in our view.

After a summer of chaos at boardroom level, the Irons were many people’s favourites to go down.

Grady Diangana was sold, and only Vladimír Coufal, Saïd Benrahma and Craig Dawson were added to a struggling side.

However, Moyes somehow led his players to sixth in the Premier League, securing the Hammers a place in the Europa League against all odds.

For the majority of the campaign, West Ham were even sat in the Champions League places – it was a truly special season.

Understandably, the West Ham fans on Twitter are annoyed that the Scot didn’t win the award ahead of Bielsa.
