Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter in bemusement after Sadio Mané uploaded a ‘bizarre’ video on to his Instagram account.
The 29-year-old posted a video of Ismaila Sarr scoring against the Reds in Watford’s 3-0 win at Vicarage Road in February 2020.
Now, you can understand why the Liverpool fans are a bit annoyed about this.
No supporter enjoys losing, so it’s strange to see Mané reminding the Anfield faithful about one of the most embarrassing defeats of Jürgen Klopp’s reign so far.
This was the match which saw Liverpool’s unbeaten run in the Premier League come to an end, in very humiliating fashion.
Why Mané has decided to post highlights from the game over a year on is slightly odd, although there’s maybe a bit of logic behind it.

Mané and Sarr – Senegal teammates and friends
Both forwards play for the Senegal national team, while they are also close friends away from the pitch.
Watford posted footage of the two at Anfield on YouTube, in which Mané asks Troy Deeney to “take care of his boy” at Vicarage Road.
In that respect, perhaps the Liverpool No.10 was just trying to promote his friend’s abilities, and give him a shoutout.

Having said that, Sarr is a quality forward who has scored plenty of great goals, so he surely could’ve found another piece of footage!
It was quite an innocent post, and it was hardly a catastrophic result – Liverpool still went on to win the Premier League that season.
Nevertheless, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter thought of his Instagram activity…
