Tottenham Hotspur are not worried about Ange Postecoglou being tempted away by Liverpool at the end of the season, HITC understands.

Ange Postecoglou was appointed as the Tottenham Hotspur head coach at the start of the season.

Postecoglou arrived from Scottish Premiership giants Celtic and has made an immediate impact at Spurs.

Tottenham are in the running for a top-four finish in the Premier League table this season and could even launch a challenge for the title.

Under Postecoglou, Spurs are playing wonderful and attacking football that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful did not get to see under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

The Australian manager’s work at Spurs has not gone unnoticed elsewhere. Liverpool are reported to be interested in Postecoglou, while Barcelona are interested in the 58-year-old as well.

Jurgen Klopp has already announced that he will step down as the Liverpool manager at the end of the season. Xavi will leave his managerial role at Barcelona in the summer of 2024 as well.

Tottenham Hotspur stance on Ange Postecoglou

While Liverpool and Barcelona have been linked with Postecoglou, sources close to Tottenham have told HITC that the club are not concerned.

The source explained to HITC: “The club is not worried, they have loved what Ange has done and they see his name being linked with other clubs as confirmation they got it right with his appointment last summer.”

Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 47 points from 24 matches.

Spurs are seven points behind leaders Liverpool and are a point above Aston Villa in fifth.

Spurs will take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Former Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov has backed Tottenham to win the match 2-1, while ex-Chelsea striker Chris Sutton also thinks that the North London club will pick up all three points from the encounter.

While predicting a 2-1 win for Spurs, Berbatov told Metro: “Tottenham will remember losing to Wolves earlier in the season. The manager and players will want to get revenge. Son is back, so Spurs have even more firepower up front. So I can see a win for Spurs if they stay concentrated throughout the game. Prediction 2-1.”

Sutton has backed Tottenham to win 3-1 and told BBC Sport: “Wolves won the reverse of this fixture in November with two goals in stoppage time but I can see Tottenham getting their revenge here.

“I was right last week with my hunch that Spurs were going to beat Brighton, although my guest – the actor Stephen Moyer – did even better and got the 2-1 scoreline spot on.

“Spurs just find a way, don’t they, with ‘Ange-ball’? They never stop coming forward, which is why they keep scoring goals. Son Heung-min is back from the Asian Cup and he will start this week.

“Tottenham will concede, even with Wolves forward Matheus Cunha out injured, but they are just relentless in attack, and they are going to give someone such a hiding soon.

“Sutton’s prediction: 3-1.”
