Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor has been linked with a move away from the club in the January transfer window.

Guiseley midfielder Simon Walton has told HITC Sport that Charlie Taylor should not leave Leeds United in the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old left-back, who can also operate as a winger, has been linked with a move away from Leeds in the January transfer window.

The Sun reported last month that Premier League club West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing the former England Under-19 international this month.

Taylor has been on the books of Leeds his entire professional career so far, but his contract with the Championship outfit runs out in June 2017, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

Former Leeds midfielder Walton believes that Taylor should remain at Elland Road and not leave in the January transfer window.

“Personally I think Charlie should stay and I think he will, now that maybe he can see the club matching his ambitions of playing in the Premier League and he can see how good this club really can be,” the 29-year-old told HITC Sport. “Not many better places to be!”

Leeds are going strong in the Championship at the moment and have a genuine chance of ending the season in the playoffs.

Garry Monk’s side are currently fifth in the table with 45 points from 25 matches.

Taylor has featured in 21 Championship matches for Leeds so far this season, creating 12 chances in the process.
