Sources have told HITC Football that a number of Premier League clubs are paying close attention to Teun Koopmeiners’ situation at Atalanta.

Liverpool will face Atalanta in the Europa League in April as Jurgen Klopp and co face a fascinating clash with the Serie A side.

Atalanta do have notable players in their squad, including midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.

The Dutch international midfielder has already revealed his intentions to move this summer.

Koopmeiners told De Telegraaf that he has already told Atalanta that he wants to move on – and he’s open to joining a Premier League club despite the weather.

“Last year there was already concrete interest from Napoli and the clubs ultimately negotiated with each other without results. I have indicated to Atalanta that I want to make a move next summer. But there must be something very nice to exchange that for Atalanta,” said Koopmeiners.

“My girlfriend and I are having a great time in Italy. But I can endure the rain for some clubs in England. I hope there will be great options that I can think about. And then I hope that Atalanta receives a nice amount for me, because I had a wonderful time there,” he added.

Teun Koopmeiners interest

The 26-year-old is on the agenda of a host of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

HITC Football sources have indicated that Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are due to be represented in Frankfurt on Tuesday in the hope of watching Koopmeiners in action for the Netherlands against Germany.

The problem here is De Telegraaf report that Koopmeiners has missed the final training session ahead of the game and is now unlikely to play.

Aston Villa, Arsenal and Liverpool have all watched Koopmeiners in recent months but interest in the midfielder is not limited to England.

HITC Football can confirm that Juventus and Napoli are both keen to keep Koopmeiners in Serie A, whilst Atletico Madrid are also looking closely.

Koopmeiners form this season

Koopmeiners has been prolific from midfield this season.

The former AZ Alkmaar ace has bagged 10 goals alongside three assists in 25 Serie A games.

Koopmeiners has been in form in 2024, hitting eight goals in his last 10 Atalanta appearances.

10 goals last season was a strong return but Koopmeiners has a chance to surpass that number this season.

After three years in Bergamo, Koopmeiners is ready to take the next step in his career and he isn’t short of suitors heading towards the summer.
