- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Newcastle United are ready to withdraw their contract offer for Tosin Adarabioyo with Chelsea pushing ahead for the Englishman.
We had previously reported that Newcastle United were confident of winning the race for the English defender but Chelsea made a late move for the former Manchester City defender.
HITC exclusively revealed that Chelsea had entered the race for the English defender and they are now pushing ahead with talks to sign the 26-year-old on a free transfer.
Newcastle were in pole position but they been left frustrated with the Fulham’s man failure to put pen-to-paper – instead holding talks with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.

Newcastle frustrated
HITC understands Newcastle told Tosin and his representatives that they would be withdrawing their offer this weekend if they did not sign the deal put on offer by the Geordie club.
As well as Tosin, Newcastle are understood to be confident about the addition of Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly but they could be set to miss out on the Fulham defender to Chelsea.
This season for Fulham, the English defender made 20 appearances for the Cottagers, scoring two goals and now looks set to move on from the West London club this summer.
United delay
Another team who were understood to be interested was Erik ten Hag’s United but we exclusively revealed that the managerial uncertainty at Old Trafford meant any move for Tosin was delayed.
Ineos have still yet to make a decision when it comes to Ten Hag’s future with HITC understanding that the club’s top brass remain split on the Dutchman’s future at the club.
Chelsea are the complete opposite of United with HITC understanding that Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca is closing in on a move to Stamford Bridge, with the deal set to be concluded soon.
Mauricio Pochettino was understood to be originally unsure about a move for Tosin but with the former Tottenham Hotspur manager dismissed, despite the club finishing sixth in the Premier League, the Blues could push forward with a move for Tosin.
