Newcastle United could get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

John Barnes has told HITC Sport that Newcastle United should sign players who are good enough for the club in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
The Magpies are at the top of the league table at the moment with 77 points from 37 matches, level on points with second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion.
Although Rafael Benitez’s side’s recent results have not been great, there is still a very good chance that they will clinch one of the two automatic promotion places.
If Newcastle do get promoted, then they are likely to make signings in the summer transfer window in order to be competitive for the 2017-18 Premier League campaign.
Over the years, the Magpies have signed a number of foreign players, many of whom have failed to impress in the Premier League, such as Facundo Ferreyra, Luuk de Jong, Romain Amalfitano and Xisco.
Former Newcastle winger Barnes believes that the club should sign players who are good enough, and should not think whether they have Premier League experience or not.
“Good players, no matter where they play, whether they play in England, whether they play in Italy, Germany, Spain, and it is a question of the players they can get,” Barnes, who is an ambassador for Bonus Code Bets, told HITC Sport when asked if Newcastle should sign players with Premier League experience.
“There is no point getting English players if they are not good enough, no point getting Italian players if they are not good enough. It doesn’t matter where they come from.
“They just have to be good enough to fulfil your aspirations, and Newcastle are an ambitious club, so I am sure they will do okay.”
