Wolves linked Diogo Goncalves admits he does not know where he will play next season.
Benfica winger Diogo Goncalves has admitted he does not know which club he will play at next season.
The comments reported by Noticias Ao Minuto are a slight boost to Championship side Wolves, who Portuguese newspaper Record reported are keen on his signature – even if the player’s priority at present is to stay at Benfica.
Goncalves spent last season with Benfica’s B team and is currently under consideration for a first team role at the club.
Wolves are keen on Goncalves
Goncalves starred for Portugal at the under-20 World Cup this summer and is highly regarded in his homeland.
The proposed move to Wolves was a season long loan move.
Goncalves is represented by high profile agent Jorge Mendes, who has close ties to Wolves.
Quoted by Noticias Ao Minuto, Goncalves said: “Of course I want to stay, but I do not know what’s going to happen, we’ll see.
“I’ve been well received by everyone and I’m committed to helping my colleagues and coach to the fullest and taking advantage of this experience.”
For now Goncalves is trying to ptove his worth at Benfica
Goncalves is playing with Benfica’s first team in their pre-season games in an attempt to prove his worth.
He could be an ideal addition for Wolves at present with Helder Costa suffering an injury, but for now Nuno Santo’s side will have to wait and see.
