Young Tottenham Hotspur forward Troy Parrott featured for the under-23s.

Irish football fans have high hopes that Troy Parrott is the ‘next big thing’.
The 16-year-old signed a contract with Tottenham Hotspur in July and is already making appearances for Tottenham’s under-23s.
Parrott made a name for himself by firing Ireland to the semi-finals of the recent under-17 European Championships.
At the weekend he was selected to start for Tottenham’s under-23 side in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
It was a real show of confidence from coach Wayne Burnett, to throw him in alongside players who have featured briefly for the first team like Anthony Georgiou and Marcus Edwards.

While Edwards made some eye catching runs of his own, Parrott was lively for Spurs and was not overawed.
Parrott even led the line up front on his own after Spurs were reduced to 10 men, with Tottenham’s official website reporting he did so ‘superbly’.
Just to be playing games at under-23 level is a validation of Parrott’s talent and his progress this season will be one to keep an eye on.
For now he has done enough to merit more chances.
