According to Sky Sports (Transfer Live blog, 8:57pm, October 15, 2020), Middlesbrough are interested in signing Yannick Bolasie from Everton today.

It has been reported that Middlesbrough want to secure the services of the former Crystal Palace winger on a loan deal and have held talks.

Boro reportedly wanted to sign the 31-year-old on loan from the Toffees two years ago and even gave him a tour of the training ground, but the winger joined Aston Villa instead.

The report has added that this time Bolasie is ‘keen on a move’ to Middlesbrough and work with his former Palace manager Neil Warnock.

Leaving Everton for Middlesbrough

Bolasie is not getting into Everton matchday squads at the moment. Manager Carlo Ancelotti told The Liverpool Echo earlier this month, as covered by HITC Sport here, that “there is no space for” the winger in his squad.

Described as an ‘exciting winger’ on Everton’s official website, Bolasie has a lot to offer, and his skills and experience would make Middlesbrough a better team.

Moreover, the winger has worked with Warnock before, and he would know how to play in his system.

Boro have picked up five points from four Championship matches so far this season, just two points behind sixth-placed Blackburn Rovers, and the arrival of Bolasie could see them push for the playoffs.
