David Beckham has labelled Liverpool transfer target Kylian Mbappe as an ‘exciting player’ and one of his favourites, as he told Sportsbible’s Instagram story.
The Manchester United legend added that, even with Mbappe’s World Cup medal around his neck, he thinks the 23-year-old has ‘so much left’ to give in his career.
Mbappe was a fresh-faced teenager when he scored for France during their World Cup final win over Croatia in 2018 – he was the first teen since Brazil’s great Pele to score in a major final.
That moment catapulted a career that was already on the rise, and now, the forward has become a bit of a drama figure in Paris, as well as one of the world’s best players.
There were suggestions last month that Mbappe wants to leave PSG because promises haven’t been met in France’s capital – he only recently penned down a pretty lucrative contract.
Either way, despite all that outside talk, Beckham was full of praise for one of football’s rising stars ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“It’s hard to actually pick a favourite player of mine these days,” said Beckham. “I like Mbappe. I think he’s an exciting player.
“He is a player that has, of course, already won the World Cup and done so much in his career. But I think he has so much left.”

France will head to Qatar as one of the favourites of the competition and with a more mature and well-rounded Mbappe leading the line.
Every top club in the world, including the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid, wanted the whizkid when he first lifted the World Cup in Russia.
Well, if he does it again, then it will be scary to think about the possible transfer fee numbers that could be associated with him, that’s if he leaves PSG.
