Ben Foster has claimed that Pape Matar Sarr could be an ‘exciting prospect’ for Tottenham in years to come, as he told his own YouTube channel.

The 18-year-old signed for Spurs this summer and was instantly loaned back to Metz in France’s top-tier.

Whilst the teenager walked through the Tottenham doors this summer, albeit it not literally, another headed for the exit door in Moussa Sissoko.

The 32-year-old joined Foster at Vicarage Road and it is a smart piece of business from Spurs to freshen that area of the pitch with younger legs.

Foster shared his thoughts on the money the Spurs have paid for this highly-talented midfielder.

“That young lad that they have signed, Pape Sarr from Metz,” said Foster. “Apparently a fair decent amount of money, £25 million or something I heard.

“I think he could be an exciting prospect for a few years time.”

Sarr is someone who has been receiving rave reviews as to what type of player he could become, with some suggestions that he has been likened to Paul Pogba.

No pressure there then in trying to go down the same road as a World Cup winner!

Nonetheless, this was a positive transfer window for those in the Hotspur Way boardroom and it could have ended a lot worse had Harry Kane left the club.

In the end, every area of the pitch was improved, goalkeeper, in defence, in midfield and in the forward areas.

There’s no doubt that more work needs to be done, but Spurs fans will be hoping that Nuno Espirito Santo can bring back the magical vibes Mauricio Pochettino once brought to the club.

Three wins in three is some start, but the real test will begin when they suffer their first defeat.
