Harry Kewell has claimed that every time he watches Luis Diaz for Liverpool he is ‘full of energy’, as he told Premier League Productions.

The former Liverpool player added that Jurgen Klopp’s January signing ‘excites me’ and he is someone fullbacks don’t want to come up against.

Arriving from Porto last month, Diaz has settled in on Merseyside like a boyhood fan breaking into the first-team.

The Colombian trickster has already got off the mark and is really starting to cement his place in the XI.

The Reds take on Chelsea in the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday and Diaz would be unfortunate if he doesn’t start, as Kewell praised the player.

“He is full of energy,” said Kewell. “And that excites me. Every time I have seen him play, he is just so energetic.

“You don’t want to come up against that if you are a fullback.”

Just like Diogo Jota settled in when he first arrived, Diaz is also showcasing his talents to the Anfield faithful in next to no time.

With Jota and Roberto Firmino’s injury doubts for Chelsea, someone like Diaz is ensuring that they aren’t going to be a miss if they can’t play.

And if someone like Jota can start at the weekend, then Diaz might have to sit on the bench, with Sadio Mane going back out to the left.

Either way, added with Firmino, it just further proves the depth Klopp can now play with and there’s no reason why they can’t win multiple trophies this term.
