Rangers have secured a deal to bring Russell Martin to Ibrox.
Rangers added yet another new signing to their ranks on Tuesday, as defender Russell Martin arrived on loan from Norwich City for the rest of the season.
The Gers had not only tied up a permanent deal for loanee Declan John earlier this month, but then snapped up Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy and Jason Cummings on loan from QPR, Brighton and Nottingham Forest respectively.
Rangers tied up yet another loan deal on Tuesday evening, as they brought in Norwich City defender Russell Martin in a move until the end of the season, strengthening Murty’s options at the back.
Martin, 32, had been a key player for Norwich following his 2010 move from Peterborough United, racking up more than 300 appearances for the Canaries during his time at Carrow Road.
This term, the defender has struggled for playing time under Daniel Farke, starting just four Championship games before being farmed out to Rangers on Tuesday.
Martin will be hoping to impress enough to secure a permanent deal at Ibrox, and one of his former Norwich teammates has now offered his opinion on the defender’s move to Glasgow.
Hearts striker Kyle Lafferty – a former Rangers player himself – took to Twitter on Tuesday night to suggest that the Scotland international is a great signing for Rangers, as he is a leader and a born winner.
Lafferty noted that Martin is one of the good guys in football, and he is excited to play against him having played alongside him at Norwich, with Rangers and Hearts set to meet next month.
