Tottenham Hotspur seemingly have no chance of landing Bayern Munich talent Mathys Tel in a deal for Harry Kane.

Mathys Tel wants to stay at Bayern Munich despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

That is according to Bild reporter Tobi Altschaffl and Sky German’s Florian Plettenberg.

Altschaffl claims that Bayern are confident of signing Tottenham striker Harry Kane and have his word on a deal.

However, allowing Tel to leave either permanently or on loan is just not in the plans for Bayern or the Frenchman himself.

Plettenberg adds that a loan is absolutely not Bayern’s plans – even if Kane does come in.

Bayern feel that Tel can be utilised as a winger and the teenager is keen to stay put in Bavaria this summer.

The Telegraph reported on Friday that Tottenham were keen to discuss a deal for Tel as part of Kane’s potential exit.

Bayern and Tel aren’t giving any kind of encouragement though, leaving Tottenham to likely give up on signing Tel this summer.

Who is Tottenham target Mathys Tel?

Tel emerged in the Rennes ranks, following on from the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Eduardo Camavinga.

Six goals in six games for the Rennes B team was a hugely impressive record but Tel didn’t score in 10 senior games for Rennes.

That didn’t stop Bayern from swooping in, forking out a fairly hefty fee of £25million for the teenager.

Six goals in 29 first-team games wasn’t a bad record for Tel last season and the 18-year-old is considered to be a top talent for the future.

Tel also has a great record for France, hitting 17 goals across 26 games at youth level.

The official Bundesliga website compare Tel to Kylian Mbappe and quote Hasan Salihamidzic as saying that he is simply an ‘exceptional’ talent.

Tottenham would no doubt love to sign that kind of player, but Tel’s reluctance leaves their hopes up in smoke.
