Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Josh Oluwayemi has raved about Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka during a conversation on Team Nigeria UK’s Instagram account.
As reported by All Nigeria Soccer, Oluwayemi came up against Saka for Tottenham against Arsenal in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup in January 2019.
Oluwayemi was in goal for Spurs, as they lost 5-2 to their bitter North London rivals after extra time.
Saka, who is now part of the Arsenal team team, scored two goals, and 19-year-old Spurs goalkeeper Oluwayemi has raved about him.
Oluwayemi told Team Nigeria UK in an Instagram conversation, as transcribed by All Nigeria Soccer, when asked for the toughest opponent of his career so far: “I don’t want to give him the satisfaction, but you know Bukayo Saka, he is too good. I can’t forget him.
“We told our defenders to watch out for him, we tried everything but he was exceptional.”
Rising Arsenal star
Saka has established himself as a player in the Arsenal first team this season, and has played well at left-back.
Blessed with the versatility to operate as a winger and as a wing-back, the 18-year-old has been very good for the Gunners and is a rising star at the Emirates Stadium.
According to WhoScored, Saka has provided three assists in 18 Premier League matches, and scored two goals and provided five assists in six Europa League games for Arsenal this season.
Meanwhile, right-back Cedric Soares, on loan at Arsenal from Southampton at the moment, has made a post on Twitter.
