Stan Collymore has said that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool should try to sign Boubacar Kamara from Unai Emery’s Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.
The former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker has raved about Boubacar Kamara in CaughtOffSide.
Collymore has noted that Liverpool need to sign one more midfielder in the summer transfer window and has suggested Kamara as a potential target.
The pundit, though, does not think that Villa would sell the £150,000-a-week (Spotac) defensive midfielder this summer.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool could lose both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to clubs in Saudi Arabia.
James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have already left Anfield.
Liverpool have signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai this summer.
Collymore wrote: “To replace Fabinho, I think Liverpool should break the bank for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and although it might be a little too soon for him, Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara would be an excellent acquisition for Klopp having been exceptional at times last season – although I think Aston Villa won’t be motivated to sell him this summer.

“If they are looking for a defensive midfielder that will be there for the next four/five years, Caicedo would be my pick.
“Partnering him with Mac Allister, his former Brighton teammate, would be very good as it was a pairing that produced tremendous results over the past season.”
Liverpool should keep tabs on Aston Villa star Boubacar Kamara
In our opinion, Liverpool should not make a bid for Aston Villa defensive midfielder Boubacar Kamara in the summer transfer window.
As Collymore has noted, Villa are unlikely to sell the France international defensive midfielder this summer.
After all, the 23-year-old moved to the Villans only last summer.
The Frenchman joined Villa on a free transfer after leaving Marseille.
Kamara is a very good player and is only 23, so Liverpool should keep tabs on him.
We believe that Liverpool should see how the youngster does in his second season in the Premier League before making a decision on whether or not to make an offer for him.
Kamara made 21 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Villa last season.
The midfielder gave one assist in those games.
