Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, as quoted in The Mirror.

Klopp has been impressed with how Arteta has changed the mood at Arsenal and the impact he has made at the Emirates Stadium in a short space of time.

The German manager made the comments ahead of the Premier League game between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield on Monday evening.

The Gunners have won both of their league games, and so have the Reds, and the match on Monday evening promises to be hugely exciting, and there should be a few goals in it as well.

Klopp told The Mirror: “He (Arteta) has showed in a short period of time that he seems to be an exceptional football manager. The structure of the team he sets up is exceptional. The balance between offence and defence is really good. He has changed the whole mood at Arsenal.

“Arsenal defend properly. All the players are involved in defending. They defend in a 5-4-1 and when you have quality players that makes it tricky for the opposition, especially when they have speed in the counter-attack. I can say a lot of positive things about Arsenal because they are true, but I still think we have a chance on Monday night.”

Top-four challengers

While Arsenal do have a strong team, especially in attack, it is hard to see the North London club challenge for the Premier League title this season.

However, the Gunners can certainly challenge for the Champions League places, and they will fancy their chances of finishing in the top four, especially after the way they have started.

A win against defending Premier League champions Liverpool would be massive for Arsenal, and one suspects that Arteta will want his side to play for the three points and not for a draw.
