Ipswich Town have signed Luke Garbutt on season-long loan from Everton.

Some Ipswich Town supporters have taken to Twitter to show their delight at the signing of Everton’s Luke Garbutt on a season-long loan deal.
Garbutt is capable of playing both at left-back and left midfield, and he will provide Ipswich with plenty of cover after Denmark international Jonas Knudsen departed in the summer.
Ipswich will set their sights on an immediate promotion back to the Championship this season, and some Town supporters feel Garbutt is exactly the sort of addition to help them in their quest.
Garbutt’s future at Everton is uncertain. He came through the youth ranks at Goodison Park and was once tipped as a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines.
It just hasn’t worked out for him, however, and now Garbutt could end up departing the Merseyside club once his contract expires at the end of this coming season.

An impressive campaign at Portman Road could open the door to a potential permanent switch to Ipswich, and after seasons of struggle Garbutt may welcome a move to a Championship club next summer.
Garbutt becomes Ipswich’s fourth signing of the summer. The Tractor Boys will likely make one or two more before the season starts as manager Paul Lambert will be gunning for the League One title.
