Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have loaned Calvin Miller to Championship outfit Ayr United after a spell at Dundee.

After spending the first half of the season glued to the bottom of the Premiership, Calvin Miller will now be hoping to finish top of the second tier between now and May.
Celtic’s 21-year-old left-back has seen his loan spell at Dundee cut short on transfer deadline day and he has now dropped down a division, joining Scottish Championship title-chasers Ayr United until the end of the campaign.
The move certainly makes sense from a Celtic point of view. Brendan Rodgers can call upon Kieran Tierney, Emilio Izaguirre and Jonny Hayes at left-back, meaning there was little room for Miller.

And the academy graduate could be one of the best players in the second tier, having produced three assists in 16 games for struggling Dundee while impressing with his attack-minded style and crossing ability.
Ian McCall’s Ayr, inspired by the relentless goalscoring feats of the irrepressible Lawrence Shankland, are just three points behind Ross County at the top of the table and are dreaming of a first season in the top flight since 1978.
Miller’s arrival should only boost their hopes.
