Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced that academy prospect Chris McKee had signed a new contract at Ibrox.

The 18-year-old will now be tied to the Glaswegian giants until at least 2022, in what is hugely exciting news for both him and Rangers.

McKee appears to be a very promising young striker.

The teenager has netted two goals in three appearances for Northern Ireland’s Under-19 side, having scored three in 11 outings for the Under-17s.

In the 2018/19 season, he helped the Rangers Under-18 side win the league and Youth Cup, while also helping the Under-17s win the Alkass Cup in Qatar.

McKee left Linfield to join Rangers in 2018 after a successful trial at Ibrox, with Belfast Live revealing that Nottingham Forest and Stevenage were also interested in signing the Carrickfergus-born centre-forward.

With plenty of time on his side and promise in his locker, we might one day see McKee tearing it up in the first-team under Steven Gerrard, potentially alongside Alfredo Morelos.
