Some Rangers fans on Twitter are reacting with glee to the announcement that Josh McPake has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The Gers have quite a few absolute gems coming through and the 19-year-old is certainly one of them.
Despite his age, McPake, who came through Rangers’ academy, dazzled on a season-long loan with Harrogate Town down South in League Two last term.
And according to The Independent, plenty more English clubs are keen on signing him on loan again next season.
Although that’s still be the case, with the player joining Morecambe straight after the extension, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard and director of football Ross Wilson have moved to sign him up to a new deal first.

Inspiration
McPake will no doubt be inspired by Nathan Patterson’s emergence as a first-team star under Gerrard this past season.
That’s because the duo are both 19 and that just proves that if Gerrard thinks you’re good enough, he’ll stick you in the squad and give you chances to prove him right or wrong.
McPake, a winger, may not be as close to the light Blues’ senior squad, but a solid spell in League One between August and January and who knows, it could be him lighting up Ibrox during the second half of next season.
